I've been reading a lot of regency romance novels lately, and I've realized it is now my life goal to be titled. Not a duchess, per se - that is aiming a little high, but I think I would be a marvelous countess or viscountess... maybe even a marchioness if I tried really hard...

ARG!!!

I love Christmas, I really do.. its a beautiful time of the year, I love Christmas Mass..all that jazz... but do they have to start it so so so rediculously early???

When I went to dining hall tonight they already had the whole place decorated! Ok ok ok.. I can deal with that...but then the salvation army brass started playing and that was too much! Its November 8th! It isnt even Remembrance Day yet! HOLD OFF ON THE CHRISTMAS STUFF PLEASE!!!

When they start to early it just makes me jaded and I end up being annoyed at what should be a celebrated and blessed day...

Im totally cool with the commercial side of Christmas...I love the trees and decorations and presents and everything, but do they really have to start it so so so so so so early?

Im watching the funniest thing ever.

It is the Maury Povich show, special Halloween edition. Instead of telling women the 15th guy they have had tested is not the babies father, this episode features 12 people dressed as women... they will come out in 3 or 4 outfits, before revealing at the end if they are a boy or a girl. Its HILARIOUS!

Today I feel like I want to crawl into a hole and dissapear.. kinda feel like an idiot, kinda useless, pretty lonely and just generally blah. I feel very jaded and displeased with people in general, specially those among us who are partially composed of a Y chromosome.

Im not a superstitious person... I'm really not, but tonight something kinda funny happened. I was sitting in my room, reading a book, getting ready for bed. I started to hear some female voice singing; not a recording, someone actually singing. I just heard it muffled, in and out, not really any specific words. Now, if you have lived in Burke House, you have heard the ghost story of the female ghost that plays guitar and sings in the trunk room. I don't believe in ghost stories, but man... I heard weird singing and I live right next to the trunk room. So I'm sitting in my room, thinking.. I KNOW there is no ghost, but this is going to bug me til I figure out where this is coming from. Now, the room on the other side of me is the study room. I didn't think there was anyone in there, but I decided to check it first, as there are no troubadour ghosts in the room. I open the door, and someone was studying, and singing along to their mp3 player.. wow I was relieved..I mean, all I need is a dead girl singing at all hours next door.. how would one inforce quiet hours on a ghost?

Is it wrong that I just dont care about my Old English class anymore? I have a midterm on Thursday and I have no clue how to prepare for it. I've memorized all the pronouns, verb and noun endings... but I don't know what else to do. In fact, I really don't care... I currently have roughly an 83 in the class, and I highly doubt I will finish this class with an A and I just don't care...a B is a 65-79 right? I can manage that..

I gave in and bought a ticket to Spiritfest.. it just looks like so much fun!!

I went through the drink book, and ticked off the ones I really wanted to try... then i counted them, and i ticked off 14...

I dont think I can drink 14 drinks without possibly killing myself

Gotta pick and choose.. hmm...

So Excited!

I have a conundrum.

I was at Winners today and found this box i really liked, so I bought it. I got home and started to play with my purchases.. and inside the box was another box with another price tag.. needless to say, i apparently didnt pay for this box (I checked my receipt).

Here is my problem.. I feel bad having not paid for it..and want to bring it to the store to pay for it.. but I don't want to get the sales associate in trouble...

oh noes...what do i do?

It has been a long time since i've updated...

It is pouring outside. I love that.. especially since I am settled for the night and I have tomarrow off.. yay! I can't believe I'll be back in less then 2 weeks. I am ready to come back mentally, but I don't even want to start thinking about packing.. I've bought a lot of stuff so hopefully it will all fit.
I got a tattoo 2 weeks ago today. I love it... it is on the back of my neck, between my shoulder blades. It is three interconnected stars in emerald, topaz blue and aquamarine. The top star is large and they get smaller as they go down, and it is not actually the star that is tattoo'ed per se, it is a shadow around it, kind of like if you put down a shape on a piece of paper, rubbed a crayon over the shape, then took the shape away and the fuzzy outline was left on the paper.
I cant wait to get back.. im missing SJ so much.

Canadian Idol is a sham!!

I was watching it tonight with my mum and my brother came in when Rob James was performing... he was like, WTF?! Rob James was James in the pop group McMaster and James from the early 2000's! wtf?! How can a guythat released like, 2 C.D's and had a professional career be in the top 8 of Canadian Idol? sooo stupid...it has made me doubt the integrity of Canadian Idol, not that it had much to begin with.

Im going to be on tv next week...woot woot. The Cove (where I work) is having some kind of shindig, and my boss asked me to do a tour of the center for Breakfast Television..they dont trust any of the tourguides to be able to do it (uhohh). The best part of the whole deal, is we are always closed on Mondays, and the deal is on Monday... so I come in for like, 2 hours and I get a full day off of my choice. Thats right.. woooot

mood: hot hot

Im getting really edgy lately... im guessing its a mixture of the heat and the time of the year in relation to important events.. I dunno. I feel like I need a change. I wish I could take a trip of get away of spend a few days by myself of something. Plus the heat here is opressive... it isnt even the heat, its the humidity. I work right on the water and I swear sometimes walking down the boardwalk feels like you are walking on the bottom of a boiling pot... its so muggy..eww. Due to that and other random crap I havnt been sleeping well at all so Im tired and hot and cranky and just generally upset... Im like a 2 year old that needs a nap.
Despite all this the summer is progressing fairly decently. I got a corset and thats all that matters really. The dressup as pirates staff event was awesome and I have tons of pictures.. I left my disc with all the pics at work but I will post one maybe when I get the disc. Pip pip...hope everyone is doing well

Got my boots today! I love them and they fit (which was a big worry). Although I have slightly mocked the wedgeheal for the last few months, I must give in to its glory... it distributes the weight on your entire foot instead of just on the heal like a normal high heal...much more comfortable, honestly! Now I must refrain myself to mocking people who wear Crocs (or Dawgs as they are otherwise known) in public as they are scary, ugly shoes (albiet so very comfortable.)
Pirates of the Carribean is so amazing...although it BLEW MY MIND! I will post a pic of the group of us dressed up as soon as I get a copy...the photographer friend of Pam's that did them is using photography software to make them pretty *shrugs*.
So far the summer is going good... I cant believe that July is half over and before I know it I will be back in SJ for school... I register on the 27th and I'm so afraid I won't get into the classes I want.
I guess that is all I have to update for now...Hope everyone is having a good summer..

BOOTS

Jul. 7th, 2006 | 08:21 pm
mood: excited excited
music: Black Horse and a Cherry Tree

After two weeks of dithering over these, I finally bit the bullet and bought these boots online http://www.torrid.com/store/product.asp?LS=0&M=683611338&RN=234&ITEM=528664

Now I just have to wait for them. How exciting.

On a fun note, We, at work, are having a group outing. We are going to see the new Pirates of the Carribean on Tuesday which is great. We decided to be big geeks and we are going dressed up. See, we have all these costumes at work.. wench costumes, tartans, mens knee britches and poets blouses, bodices, vests...and the accountant at the office also does walking tours of the pirates and privateers of Halifax. He has an awesome costume, with a cutlass and a flintlock..so we are going as a group... he is dressing as a pirate, two of us girls are wearing knee britches and poet shirts and going as female pirates (like Anne Boney and her lover. We wear the wench costumes everyday to entertain on the boardwalk so we wanted to change it up) and the rest of the staff (we are all girls except for Medrick the pirate guy) are dressing as wenches. We are having a bbq and then going dressed up.... we are such geeks...

Hope everyone is doing good! I saw Raylene and Kirk on George St. TV the other night which was fun, and I miss SJ so much

Wow.... everyday I see things that makes me more cynical and oddly amused at that odd odd place we refer to as the USA.

I was watching the Jon Stewart Show, and saw something that just made me pause and think.. W..T..F.

Video Game ratings are now a huge deal in the USA...although all games are rated, and there are specific rules about selling mature games to underage people, and to buy these games parents must give permission...anywho, despite this, people are still freaking out.

So this U.S senator was adressing the house (or whatever its called) and he said (paraphrased, obviously,) that, "Obviously, children of rich families in upper class areas will not be affected by violent games such as grand theft auto, but children in poverty stricken areas, or children of poor families will be greatly affected by these games, and it is very likely they will be led to a life of crime, possibly following in the footsteps of a father who is in jail, or a brother who is already selling on the street."

This gave me a feeling, which i can only describe as somewhat like brainfreeze.. WTF! Yes... I forgot that only poor kids commit crimes! I forgot that! And of course sooo many poor children can afford 80 dollar video games to play on game systems that cost hundreds of dollars...silly me...
